The Excellence in Marketing Awards (EIMA) are AMA SF’s annual recognition program for marketing work made in the Bay Area. Founded by the chapter and judged by Bay Area CMOs, the EIMAs span nine categories — from breakthrough campaigns at the world’s most recognizable brands to bootstrapped work shipped by a team of one. Past winners include e.l.f. Beauty, Netflix, PayPal, Waymo, Dialpad, Taelor AI, and Gold Bar Spirits Company.

Who can enter

B2C, B2B, agency, in-house, and freelance work is eligible — provided the campaign or marketer is based in the Bay Area. Self-nominate or nominate a favorite campaign.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can enter the EIMAs?

Anyone whose marketing work is based in the Bay Area — whether you’re at a global brand, a Bay Area-headquartered startup, an agency, or an independent practitioner. You can nominate yourself, your team, or someone else’s work. Full eligibility criteria are on the eligibility page.

Is there a fee to nominate?

There is a modest nomination fee per entry to cover judging and event costs. Fees are waived for AMA SF members, Student Awards and Community Nominations. See eligibility page for additional details eligibility page.

How are winners chosen?

A panel of Bay Area CMOs and senior marketing leaders reviews every nomination. Judges score independently and are recused from any category where they have a direct conflict. We’ll be announcing 2026 judges soon on the judges page.

When does the 2026 cycle open and close?

Nominations open June 15, 2026 and run through July 31. Finalists will be announced on September 1. The awards night will be held in September 2026 in San Francisco.

Do I have to be an AMA SF member to enter?

The AMA SF Excellence in Marketing Awards are open to the entire Bay Area marketing community. AMA SF members get waived nomination fees and discounted event tickets — but membership is not a requirement or consideration to win.
