On May 22, 2014 the sfAMA was honored to support the San Francisco State University Marketing Association and 2 year old AMA chapter (SFSUMA for short) in hosting the 2014 marketing graduation ceremony at San Francisco State. This was our biggest collegiate outreach of the year and we wanted to make it count!
Our President, Gene Filipi (VP of Sales & Marketing at Kinesis Surveys), was asked to deliver the keynote send-off to all the graduates and he delivered! He gave a heartfelt story about his early career and finishing as a late adult – which resounded very well with the target audience as there were many finishing at a non-traditional pace in the audience.
The sfAMA board came out in full force, handing out diplomas to the new graduates, and also staffing a table filled with event invitations, membership information and applications. We answered a lot of questions and provided some exposure for the American Marketing Association nationwide. It was great to see all this positive energy and exchanges amongst seasoned and new marketers.
We also made an offer to all graduating students of SFSU class of 2014 that we would pay 50% of their membership to the American Marketing Association. That offer is still good and if they want more info they can reach out to membership@sfama.org.
Congratulations to the Class of 2014 Graduates and all the best in your future marketing careers!
